Early Access: Update 4 – New Missions & Languages

Update 4 Title Card

Greetings, Aces!

Happy 2025! Our first update of the year is here—bringing exciting new updates, including mission types and map improvements, expanded language support, and a special perk for Founders: the ability to claim all previous Monthly Bonuses.

Kicking things off, the World Map will feature three new mission types. Each can be completed once, and some have graduated from discovery tiles to permanent spots on the map. Beyond that, we’ve fine-tuned combat and enemy behaviors, and polished up the visuals (no more NPCs mysteriously losing their faces—oops!). Enemies now have sharper responses and clearer tells, making fights challenging but fair. Plus, this update brings some love to your inventory, tweaks to item stats, and improved mission flow to keep things moving.

What’s that you say? More-monster-mangling was your New Year’s Resolution, too?! Well, then—what are you waiting for? Ready up, Aces … this year is gonna be a doozy.

More Languages

The Belfry continues to welcome Aces from around the world with these new options, bringing our support language count to 23:

  • Polish (pl-PL)
  • Danish (da-DK)
  • Swedish (sv-SE)
  • Norwegian (nb-NO)
  • Finnish (fi-FI)

Gameplay & Exploration

This update hits some quality-of-life love for your inventory, item balancing fun, tweaks to mission and progression flow, and more. Dive in and see what’s new!

Founders: Claim Past Monthly Bonuses!

With this update, Founders can now claim all previous Monthly Founder Bonuses—no more Ace envy for you newer Aces out there!

New Mission Types

Three new types of missions can be found on the World Map. Each one of these missions can be completed once. Some of these missions used to appear in discovery tiles, but now have a permanent location on the map:

  • Guide and Guard – Protect or escort wagons.
  • Bait and Clear – New challenging missions where players progress through waves of enemies by ringing a bell.
  • Chance Encounter – Unique experiences for the Ace to discover (some of these you may have come across in a discovery mission before, but there are also new encounters and missions to discover).

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Easier Group Finder Access: You now don’t have to go back to the Belfry to access Group Finder; find your group from the World Map, too!
  • Storage Increase: Increased the Aspect inventory storage limit from 50 to 80, to match the Weapon and Gear storage limits.
  • Loot Adjustments:
    • Improved the drop rates for many Legendary items that were rarer than intended.
    • Adjusted loot throughout the game to bias slightly in favor of gear dropping over weapons.
  • Item Stats Balance:
    • Strike DMG min/max random substat values reduced.
    • Umbra Strength min/max random substat values increased.
    • The “Focus Gain When Hit” item stat is now considered a Legacy stat. It will still function on existing items with this stat, but will no longer appear on newly acquired items.
    • Its functionality has been rolled into the “Focus Gain on Hit” stat, which has now been relabeled to “Focus Gain.”
    • Changed static substats of the “Cambulary’s Strength” Legendary Sword:
      • Bleed DMG → DMG Reduction
      • Crit DMG → Strike DMG
      • Existing Cambulary’s Strength items will be considered legacy items and retain their original affixes.
    • Changed one of the static substats of the “Red Handed” Legendary Gauntlets:
      • Crit DMG → Health Per Hit
      • Existing Red Handed items will be considered legacy items and retain their original affixes.
    • Crit DMG is now calculated as a multiplicative modifier rather than additive. It will now stack as expected with other damage modifiers like Strike DMG.

  • After loading into a mission, the quest tracker now hides itself after a couple of seconds. The information can still be brought back up by pressing 2 on the keyboard or the RIGHT arrow on a controller.
